Don’t rush to solve the problem when someone brings concerns or issues to you. Take a moment, listen carefully, and then summarize the problem back to them.
“Playback” what they say: While they talk, nod and repeat a few of their words. This shows you’re paying attention and truly engaged.
Ask insightful questions: What do they think should be done? Have they already thought about a solution?
Offer support, not solutions: Instead of jumping in with advice, ask how you can support them and if they want your opinion. 🙏
